    ظهر مصطلح الاقتصاد الجديد لأول مرة في الو.م.أ، ويعود إلى غزو تكنولوجيا الإعلام والاتصال وأثارها ليس فقط على القطاع الإنتاجي بل على التطبيقات في الصناعات القديمة والجديدة معا. فأية محاولة لتعريف الاقتصاد الجديد لابد وأن تقترن بآثار تكنولوجيا الإعلام اولاتصال. يعتبر القطاع المص رفي من أهم القطاعات الاقتصادية وأكثرها حساسية وتأث ا ر بثورة الاتصالات والمعلومات التي أسهمت في تق دمه وازدهاره خاصة في العقو د الأخيرة، حيث استخدمت الشبكات وربطت الحواسيب مع بعضها البعض لتنمية المصارف بتطبيقها لنظم تقنية عالية من شأنها تبادل البيانات وصولا إلى العمل المصرفي الاعتباري القائم على الركائز الالكترونية المتطورةt : The term of the new economy appears for the first time in the USA. It dues to the invasion of the information and communication technologies and its effects, not only on the productive sector, but on the applications of the old and the new the industries together. Any attempt to define the new economy must be coupled with the effects of information and communication technology.
