    Arab poets have known lamentation since the pre-Islamic era until the present day, and it was one of its most important purposes, and you rarely find a poet who did not compose it because it is an honest image of the depth of social relations. The art of lamentation was and remains one of the most prominent purposes of Arab poetry despite the transformations it has undergone in its traditions among poets.
