    The present study aimed at revealing the level of communication skills and professional performance in a sample of guidance counselors and school guidance counselors, as well as revealing the relationship between them and then on the extent of difference according to gender variables and years of experience, To achieve the objectives of the study, we relied on communication skills and professional performance tools after being sure about their psychometric characteristics which were applied to a sample of 90 consultants in Ghardaia and Ouargla for the academic year 2016/2017 and by using the following statistical methods: medium, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, the coefficient of variance significance for correlation coefficients.The following results were obtained: -The most common communication skills for guidance counselors are reading followed by thinking. - There is a statistically significant relationship between communication skills and professional performance. - The relationship between communication skills and professional performance does not vary according to sex differences. - The relationship between communication skills and professional performance does not differ according to professional experience. This is interpreted in light of the theoretical framework and previous studies related to communication skills subject and professional performance.
