Initiation à la description morphologique et la systématique du genre Sphingonotus (Oedipodinae-acrididae –caelifera) Dans la région de Ghardaïa
(2016) BABBOU, Khadidja; BOUABDELLI, Ghania Meriem
This study was performed in two different environments (El-Atteuf and BeniIzguen) in the region of Ghardaia. The inventory of grasshoppers and the sampling has identified 21 species, belonging to three families and six subfamilies. The study relative to the biological characteristics of the main species of Sphingonotus in the Ghardaia region allowed us to highlight the dynamics of key species studied. Through the ecological study, we could therefore shows that the kind Sphingono-tus frequent dry environments with low vegetation cover. The morphometric study shows a size of distinction generally, both in males than in females: females are much larger than males.

The study is carried out in the region of Ghardaia, in the northern part of the Sahara. The climate of this region is Saharan type with mild winter. The study environment is a reg, characterized by date palm and arboriculture. In addition, a spontaneous vegetation. Surveys carried out in the study station made it possible to inventory 20 species of Orthoptera divided into 02 families, 05 subfamilies and 12 genera. The Oedipodinae subfamily is best represented in species in the Ghardaia region. The determination of the contents of the feces under the light microscope compared to a reference Epidermothèque, in a medium cultivated at Touzouz (Ghardaïa), allowed us to specify for eight locusts, their diets. Locusts consumed nine plant species on 17 of the plants recorded in the study station. The species selected by the insect are: Cynodon dactylon, Elymus repens, Polypogon monspeliensis, Bromus sterilis, Ephedra sp, Rumex vesicarius, Crepis sp, Atriplex hortensis and Chenopodiastrum mural.
