With the frequent increase in urinary tract infections in the area of Ghardaïa, our study aimed to study the ECBU infections in the laboratory of Mohammed Shabani hospital, in El Ménéaa. We examined 160 samples (women, children and men) in the period from 16 August to 18 December 2016. In order to come up with solutions to reduce the latter. The protocol of work is standardized with using the morning urine specimens to analyze cell and to determine the proportion of these elements, and also to study different types of bacterial infection in theses samples. To characterize the bacteria responsible of these infection, we used API 20E system and we studied also the antibiotic susceptibility of isolated bacteria. The obtained results showed that the most dominant bacterial type is in these kind of infections is Escherichia coli, followed by Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Furthermore, a rare case of Klebsiella has been reported in the area. As well as the category of women (from the age of puberty to menopause) are especially the most vulnerable, and the category of men, but when young children, before being subjected to circumcision, have been infected by Proteus mirabilis. Finally, follow up some daily tips and maintain a permanent hygiene can reduce a lot of cases of these urinary infections in the region of Ghardaïa
