Propolis is a resinous material produced by bees from the collection of resin from plant buds and tree bark, it is used by bees to cover the hive and protect against dangerous exogenous factors such as microorganisms, insects, man uses propolis, to relieve wounds on the skin, against oral diseases, against colds, sore throats, pharyngitis, to support the immune system. This work aims to evaluate the antioxidant activity of propolis from the Tlemcen region by carrying out two anti-radical tests (DPPH/ABTS). To achieve this objective, we carried out an extraction of the polyphenolic substances of propolis by a hydro-ethanolic solvent (80% ethanol), the extraction yield equals 37.09%, two tests were carried out in this work for the evaluation of the antioxidant activity, the DPPH test and the ABTS test, by the use of calibration ranges of different concentrations for the extract of propolis and ascorbic acid, the results of IC50 obtained are 0.23mg/ml for the propolis extract with DPPH and 0.027mg/ml for the propolis extract with ABTS.
