(Faculté Science de la Nature et de la Vie et Sciences de la Terre - Université de Ghardaïa, 2019) SALEM, Wafa
This study is based on the importance of night-owl birds on the biodiversity of desert environments, namely in the region of Bouzan, Adrar province (southern Algeria), especially the type Bubo ascalaphus, as the center of our study, by raising roll rolls (thirty pellots of each month) from different nesting sites for a period of Six months and analyzed to see the most important food ingredients in this type of night hatch. We found 5 types of prey including: spiders, bats, insects, birds, rodents, which are found at the top of the preferred species as general food by 44.41%. The most commonly consumed species were Streptopelia sp (AR = 14.96%) followed by Passer sp (AR = 13.64%). In this study, it was concluded that the species named Bubo ascalaphus is a diverse general predator with a varied nutritional base.
