Abstract

Abstract in English: This research deals with the functional framework of the Imam in Shari'a and Algerian law.It is one of the most important issues raised in public and private councils, and in mosques, training and administrative institutions such as religious affairs and their belonging to public office. We discussed the importance of the { Imamate} and referred to the historical development of the Imam’s job descriptions, the conditions of his appointment, duties ,rights , the errors arising from work and the penalty prescribed by law and a comparison between them as well. This research ended with conclusions and recommendations.
