Abstract
The current study aimed to identify the degree of addiction to the use of the
Internet and its relationship to a feeling of psychological loneliness among
secondary school students, at Sheikh Mohammed Al-Akhdar Filali High School
in the state of Ghardaia .
Where the study was conducted on 250 samples out of 1490 male and female
students selected randomly, including (123) males and (127) females. Our study
was based on the descriptive analytical approach, and to collect information we
used the Internet addiction scale prepared by Azab Mahmoud (2001). And
Russell's measure of psychological loneliness (1996), we also relied on the
statistical methods represented in the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, alpha-
Cronbach's equation, and Abu El-Nile's coefficient to calculate the fourth and
fifth hypotheses, Pearson correlation coefficient to calculate the relationship
between two variables.
Where the results came to:
The level of Internet addiction among secondary school students is high.
The level of psychological loneliness among secondary school students is high.
-There is a statistically significant relationship between Internet addiction and a
sense of psychological loneliness among secondary school students
The relationship between Internet addiction and a sense of psychological
loneliness varies with the variable of age and gender among secondary school
students.
