Abstract

According to research conducted at the URAER-CDER in Ghardaïa, two prototypes of solar cookers were designed and tested in order to evaluate their energy efficiency, ease of use, and their adaptability to the specific climatic conditions of the Saharan region. This comparative study aims to analyse the thermal and functional performance of the two devices, highlighting their respective advantages and limitations. The main objective is to identify the solution best suited for daily household use, particularly in remote areas where access to conventional energy sources remains limited. We also aim to develop modular systems that facilitate both preventive and corrective maintenance, while taking into account the realities on the ground. This type of initiative is fully in line with efforts to promote renewable energy and valorise local resources in order to improve the quality of life of local populations.
