Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of radio programs in preserving the cultural identity of a sample of the general audience listening to Radio Ghardaia، as well as to identify the contribution of Radio Ghardaia in the introduction of local heritage ،as well as to know the extent to which local radio contributes to the promotion of local culture، as well as the preservation of identity and heritage، and to achieve the goal of the study the questionnaire was applied، using the quantitative approach ،The following results were reached: 1) that the radio provided cultural awareness through its contribution to the definition of the local cultural heritage. 2) The radio had an active role in building cultural awareness among listeners and members of the community and in promoting the local culture. 3) that the radio contributed to the awareness of the public in preserving the local cultural heritage through its various cultural and heritage programmes. 4) The local radio contributes to the dissemination of local culture among the people of the region. 5) The local radio contributed to the promotion of local products through its programmes.
