In the region of Ouargla, pesticides are increasingly used in palm groves. The objective of our study is a diagnosis on the use of pesticides in palm grovesofthe region. Surveys are carried out in 36 farms in six communes (Ouargla, Rouissat, Sidi khouiled, Ain Beida, HBA and Ngoussa). The site selection criteria are based on: the use or not of pesticides and thehomogeneity of the number of date palms. Several parameters related to the farmers, the farms, the use and the effectiveness of the treatments by pesticides are studied The results of the surveys showed that the most used pesticides are: Vapcomic, with arate of 50% and Alphazuron at 38,88%. The treatments are carried out, in summer, mainly against Boufaroua and Myelois which attack the fruits of the date palm. Treatments for other crops are mainly made in Hassi Ben Abdallah. The farmers reportthe effectiveness of pesticides because of delays in their application and expiry of their expiry dates. The percentage of respondents using bio pesticides is 5.55%.EN_en
