Abstract
The current study aimed to reveal the relationship between attachment
patterns and social skills of teenagers studying in the middle school stage in the
municipality of Sebseb. The descriptive approach or curriculum was based on
the nature of the subject of the study. In order to collect data related to the
topic, the attachment patterns questionnaire was used to Asma Muhammad
Ahmed Hussein (2020), and the Social Skills Questionnaire to Nada Nasr El-
Din Abdel Hamid (2012). The study was applied to a sample of 170 middle
school students selected and chosen in a random manner. After collecting and
tabulating the data, the hypotheses were tested and selected using the statistical
package (SPSS), where we reached the following results:
- The most common attachment style among adolescents studying in middle
school is fearful attachment, then secure attachment, followed by preoccupied
attachment, then expelling attachment.
- The level of social skills of an adolescent studying in the middle school stage
is high.
- Attachment styles (secure, preoccupied, repellent, fearful) contribute to
predicting the social skills of an adolescent studying in the middle school
stage.
- There are no statistically significant differences in attachment styles
according to the gender among adolescents studying in the middle school
stage.
- There are no statistically significant differences in social skills according to
the variable of gender, educational level, and the interaction between them
among adolescents studying in the middle school stage.
