Abstract
This course provides an overview of Information Mining technologies as an important field in the
text mining process. It involves transforming unstructured or semi-structured collections of texts
into an ordered collection of data.
During the courses, the students will learn:
• Architectures of Information Extraction Systems
• Knowledge-based Models vs. Probabilistic Models
• Recognition of Named Entities and Classification
• Coreference Resolution
• Recognition of Temporal Expressions and Normalization
