Abstract
This study was conducted on butterflies on farms in two regions: the Ghardaïa region and the Mnaia
region, through eight stations, from September 2023 to February 2024. On two types of crops (corn and
wheat), butterflies were sampled irregularly. The results were analyzed by applying some biodiversity
indicators: species richness, relative abundance and frequency of occurrence. The results obtained
allowed the identification of 283 individuals, and a total of 4 species of butterflies divided into 3 families
were identified in the three study sites: Noctuidae, Nymphalidae and Pyralidae.
During our study, the most abundant family was Noctuidae and in September recorded greater butterfly
activity. The yellow corncob moth, Helicoverpa armigera, causes pests in corn crops in the Ghardaïa
region.
