Published in 2015, the novel fictionally reconstructs the final hours of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. By analyzing concepts such as paratext, titling, autobiography, and theories of reality and fiction, this thesis aims to demonstrate how Khadra uses these elements to create an immersive and reflective reading experience on power, dictatorship, and identity.
