Abstract
An inventory of locusts has been achieved in the region of Ghardaïa the study was conducted
in three stations. S1 and cultured medium (El- Atteuf), S2 medium uncultivated (El- Atteuf)
and palm (GHARDAIA). The achievement of this inventory was made from sampling method
(sampling square, the sweep net). Orthoptera of samples are sampled from 28 species These
species are distributed into two sub- orders, three super- families, families fives and eleven
subfamilies.
Ecological conditions are essentially; climate, soil, and vegetation type. Seem to play a major
role in the distribution of Orthoptera. In fact, some species of grasshoppers are called drought
tolerant and thermophilic , are associated with open habitats , dry and hot , this is the case, for
example Sphingonotus rubescens ; else say hygrophile and rain , which like cutlery and
wetland habitats as is the case Omocestus lucasi , others say eurythermal and euryhygres
capable of humidity, this is the case Acrotylus patruelis.
The main purpose of our study is to determine which species adapt to the climate of the
study area and ecological changes as a result, the study of their ecological characteristics and
life cycles to define the appropriate control methods against this type of insect and the
damage that cause it.
